lithofill
lithofill is based on ultra-pure, natural zeolite. Zeolites are aluminum silicates that, due to their special lattice structure, have a huge inner surface area (up to approx. 600 m2/g) as well as a special ion-binding capacity. This results in an incomparable storage capacity for water or other substances.
A decisive factor for the excellent quality is the high clinoptilolite content of lithofill. This special zeolite offers a wide range of advantages for industrial applications. For example, lithofill is able to bind and neutralize particularly large amounts of molecules. Unwanted substances can be filtered while desired substances can be selectively released.
In plastics:
lithofill facilitates targeted odour management: either by providing specific fragrances or by neutralizing unwanted odours (VOC).
- Binds / neutralizes odors
- Increases breathability
- Fragrances can mask unwanted scents
- Increased stability due to its crystalline structure
- Higher elongation at break
In rubber:
lithofill increases tensile strength and elongation, because the use of clinoptilolite as a (partial) filler replacement for carbon black optimizes the vulcanization time.
- Increases tensile strength and stretchability
- Binds / neutralizes odors
- Higher elongation at break
In paint/lacquer:
lithofill enables the binding and neutralization of large amounts of molecules due to the high cation exchange capacity. In addition, lithofill increases the homogeneity of the product.
- Anti-settling agents
- Binds / neutralizes odors
- Thickener
- Increased stability due to its crystalline structure
Further application examples:
- Carrier: for liquids and fragrances, for example plastics with special smells
- Adhesive: dries faster, reduces odour
- Construction chemistry: prevents segregation and cracking,
improves material strength
