FORSCHUNGSPROJEKT „REZEOSORB“

RESEARCH PROJECT “REZEOSORB”

ADSORPTION BEHAVIOR OF ZEOLITE IN POLYMER AND PLASTIC RECYCLATE FOR FUNCTIONALIZATION AND EMISSION REDUCTION.

The “ReZeoSorb” project was started a few years ago together with the Transfer Center for Plastics Technology in Wels – TCKT for short. The aim is to build up know-how about the properties of the zeolite in terms of adsorption and desorption, both for the zeolite itself and in a surrounding plastic matrix. The effect of zeolite in recycled plastic is also being investigated, as the possibilities for odor reduction have enormous potential here.

Natural zeolite is a cheap raw material with special properties. Molecules can be attached to its microporous surface and released again. This effect can be used for the functionalization of plastics, e.g. B. for moisture absorption or odor reduction.
